Oshawa is our closest neighbour and the largest city in Durham, with everything from postwar bungalows south of the 401 to new subdivisions around Ontario Tech and Durham College in the north end.

The older neighbourhoods near downtown and the harbour have deep, narrow lots with detached garages, mature maples and a side yard that may be four feet wide, which means we measure carefully and sometimes bring a crane. North Oshawa, from Taunton Road up past the university, is newer: wider frontages, a rear gate and a basement panel near the back wall, so delivery is a dolly through the gate and a short electrical run. Between the two are the sixties and seventies streets with big backyards and a 100 amp service that an ESA licensed electrician should assess before you buy a 60 amp tub.

GM families, Lakeridge Health staff on rotating shifts and the university and college community are our Oshawa customers, along with a growing number of Toronto commuters who parked at Oshawa GO and never left. Shift workers soak at odd hours and like the app control on the J-400 series; a J-435 at $27,895, or the floor model clearance at $24,995, fits the budget of a two income household. Parents of students in the north end buy the J-345 seven seater at $23,195 because it handles a full house at Thanksgiving, and the older streets take a J-315 where the side yard rules out anything wider.

Getting to the Whitby showroom from Oshawa

From downtown Oshawa take King Street west, which becomes Dundas Street once you cross into Whitby; we are about ten minutes along. From the north end, Thickson Road south from Taunton is quickest.
