Ajax runs from the Lake Ontario waterfront north past the 401 and Taunton Road, and the split between the older south end and the newer north end shapes almost every delivery we do there.

South Ajax, around Harwood Avenue and the waterfront, has the wartime and postwar housing the town was built on: modest lots, detached homes close together and side yards that were never meant for a hot tub on a dolly. Many of these deliveries are a crane from the street, and the panel is often an older 100 amp service. North Ajax, above Rossland Road and along Salem and Audley, is newer subdivision housing with rear gates and 200 amp panels. Waterfront properties get the full force of the southwest wind, so cover straps and a windbreak matter more here than anywhere else we deliver.

Ajax buyers are overwhelmingly commuters, either on the Lakeshore East line from Ajax GO or in the 401 crawl toward Scarborough, and they want a tub that is hot at seven in the evening without any effort. The J-335 at $21,995 and the J-355 at $24,795 are the most common picks in the north end. Townhome owners near the GO station look at the three seat J-215 at $14,095 or a Nordic Retreat SE at $10,195 on a patio. A Clearlight Sanctuary 1 in a townhome basement is a popular add on for the fitness crowd who run the Waterfront Trail.
